I
was employed at the Veins of Life Watershed Society (VOLWS)
and Rock Solid Foundation from January 3rd, 2001 till January
30, 2001. It was my first job experience related to my
degree. Our team, led by David Major, was assigned the
job of marketing the ideas of Rock Solid organizer Tom Woods.
The project we worked on was called the West Side Gallery Park.
My involvement in the West Side Gallery Park project was mainly
to make pamphlets and business proposal drawings in CorelDraw
9. Our team then went door-to-door with the pamphlets
and a questionnaire. All the questionnaire information
was collected and put into a database. The information
will be used for various proposals and presented to the project
steering committee.
The Veins of Life Watershed Society
and Rock Solid Foundation provided me with valuable experience
to draw upon for my interview at the Ministry of Energy and
Mines. The valuable experience began on the day of the
interview. It was the first real grueling interview I
have had. I learned how to work under pressure and what
kind of questions I could expect in other interviews.
The work I did in CorelDraw 9 with the Veins of Life was very
valuable because it provided me with a refresh of my skills
in CorelDraw. The work ethic required by the VOLWS and
Rock Solid Foundation will be remembered and used for the rest
of my career.
