Black Bear (Ursus americanus)
Description: Colour can be black, cinnamon, bluish or white. Weight ranges from 200 to 600 pounds, can be up to six feet tall when standing up on their hind legs.

Habitat: Forested area. Home ranges can be from five to 225 square miles for a single male.

Feeding: Omnivorous. Prefer vegetable matter, but will also eat insect larvae, fish, carrion, garbage and ungulate calves.
General: Hibernate in dens during the winter for up to six months depending on the weather. Females give birth to two or three cubs every second year during the denning season.
